As acai berries are being promoted by acai peddlers across the Internet, one unnamed acai company decided to offer their own employees their free acai berry trial program as a bonus for their hard work. The employees, who are trained to tie up the phone lines or stop customers from canceling at all costs, ended up having to scam each other as each tried to cancel by the end of the 14-day free trial.
As the phone calls of employees trying to cancel were routed to the cubicles around them, each employee began to realize how good they have become at their main goal of preventing cancellations. “Man, my boy Victor’s got skills..first he hung up on me..and then he pretended to be hard of hearing when I repeatedly told him to cancel my free trial,” said an anonymous employee. Eventually, the admiration around the office turned into physical altercations. Two employees threw a turkey sandwich at one of their fellow employees in the lunch room after both failed at canceling their free trials. An all out brawl broke out in the parking lot on the last day of the free trial as employees begged each other to let each other out of the free trial.
Managers at the company, who decided to offer the free trials as a bonus, have been suspended without pay, but the the company still refuses to offer any refunds to the employees and continues to charge the employees the monthly $80 fee for the acai berry extract until they cancel the program. “I want to cancel the free trial!!” yelled one employee at another as the other employee quickly ducked out of the room.
